Celebri-sightings!

1. Last weekend, I attended a birthday gathering of a friend of a friend at a hipster bar in Echo Park. What with all the flannel, leggings, and film school eyeglasses, it wasn't exactly my scene, but I found a photo booth, one of my favorite things, and figured that would be the highlight of my night. It almost was. Until I was standing at the corner of the bar and saw a small blond chick standing next to me in the area that was supposed to be reserved for the servers. I thought to myself, who is this chick? I looked sideways at her and realized... uh, that's Drew Barrymore. Yeah. She caught my look, so we exchanged meek "Hi"s. Some rando tried to go talk to her, offer her a drink or something, but one of the 3 guy friends she was with stepped blatantly in between them. So I didn't try anything past my basic greeting. Then a little later, I found myself dancing about 3 feet from Drew and her posse. We have similar groove styles.

2. So this past week was inter-session back at our old stomping grounds, and a bunch of undergrads came out to LA as part of Harvardwood. I managed to meet up with a few and we had a lovely lunch, followed by a long wonderful walk to Venice, along the beach. As I was answering their many questions about the real world and the industry, who should run by (with sunglasses, headphones, and cute little running cap) but Dell, from Private Practice. I pointed at him and exclaimed, "Hey, it's Dell!" Not sure if he didn't notice or chose to ignore...

3. Today, on my way to get coffee (and hoping to see Aaron Eckhart) I was waiting for the crosswalk sign to tell me it was okay to cross. I was stuck on the corner for a while, when I noticed a familiar face (though clearly sans make-up and having just come from the gym and/or just woke up) in the passenger window of the car stopped at the light. I had to check it out a few more times, and confer with my co-worker, but yes, it was Jessica Alba. Pretty sure the driver of her car was some other lesser known actress, but I couldn't place her.

So a good run of celebri-sightings, and hopefully more to come! Little do they know that THEY all saw ME!
