Sibling Revelry

I take back anything bad I have ever said about my sister. I finally had the moment I've always wanted to have with her. Saturday night, I see she is calling me, then realize it's 11 PM her time so she's probably drunk. (She has called me once or twice before when inebriated.) So I answer, and, yes, she is loopy. She's walking home and wants me to stay on the phone with her. We continue to have a kind of unintelligible conversation as she is having trouble hearing me and is having equal trouble processing words.

She keeps apologizing for calling me while wasted, taking up my time, etc. She tells me she ran into a few randos from high school and college and recounts part of her night. Then, she says the nicest things she has ever said to me. She says she always brags about me to her friends, makes them watch my thesis (even though no one knows what it's about... neither do I), tells them how cool my job is etc. And she loves me so much. And thanks for talking to me, I swear I'm almost home. One block away. Okay, I'm here. But why isn't the key going in? I say, "Probably because you're drunk."
