High School Schmooze-ical

Wow. Surprisingly, I have a lot to tell about the last few days. Let's start with the fact that I got a job interview. I applied to be a personal assistant and I am really hoping to get it, so send happy thoughts! My first interview for this was very cool because it was on the Warner Bros. lot. After the meeting, I took a walk around. It was AMAZINGLY AWESOME. Not only do they have their own Starbucks (among other coffee places) but I also saw the stages (albeit from the outside) where TV shows and movies, for instance West Wing, were shot. I walked past a building with a plaque labeling it as the Friends stage, which of course, I loved. I saw a dumpster that was labeled: "Pushing Daisies only" and the parking spots reserved for Two and a Half Men cast members. Probably the coolest part was the outdoor sets they have built there, like the main street and store used for Gilmore Girls, the Chicago-esque El station used in ER, and the 50's town setting of Back to the Future. I stealthily followed a tour-bus-thing around for a while and listened in. Very, very cool.

Yesterday, as you may have seen from my cheeky email, I was privileged enough to attend the taping of the finale of
High School Musical: Get in the Picture. One of my friends works for the reality production company that did this show and when I told her about our obsession, she invited me to come. (Upon meeting her boss, I told him of our High School Booze-ical tradition...)

I was definitely one of the oldest people there who did not have a child. Though the most frightening thing was the way that most of these pre-adolescent girls dressed. It was hard to tell if they were 4 or 44. And holy sh*t are their voices annoying. I mean, decibel levels were of the charts. It was less cheering and more screeching. So many yells of "We love you _____!! (Ashley, Nick, Kenny, etc.) I kept wanting to yell, "I feel platonic-ly about you!" It was hosted by Nick Lachey (who, despite the cheesy writing was actually a decent host) and we were treated to a live performance by him and his band. It was kind of hot, like around 98 degrees. Ashley Tisdale made an appearance (she's tiny) though Kenny Ortega was who I was most excited to see. What a guy - even threw some HSM t-shirts and water bottles to the crowd.

All in all, it was fun in the unique way that only a High School Musical reality show could be. They provided us with cookies and water and of course, plenty of HSM/Disney entertainment. And yes, I know who wins. But no, I can't tell you. You will have to watch the finale, because I know you are all avidly following the show. Look for me in the audience.
